And So It Begins.

The

Hey Everyone! I promise I am still alive over here, a break from blogging was exactly what I needed. Now I am back and ready to melt some of this stubborn weight off of my body. In the next couple of days I will pop in and share with you whats been going on in the last couple of months and what my plans for the next couple of months. Like the little logo above says I have decided to give Whole 30 a chance, with the hope that it kick starts my weight loss and helps push me onto a healthier path.

Over the next 30 days I will fill you guys in on my experience, what kind of meals I have been eating and just overall how I am feeling. I did my official weigh in yesterday, and was actually surprised to see that I was almost 5lbs down from my highest weight. With some hard work and persistence I should be able to keep the scale heading in the right direction. I have been following Rachel Wilkerson’s journey on the Whole 30 for the last month and she has totally inspired me to give it a try. I mean it is only for thirty days, I can manage that (I hope).

Here is to a healthy and productive month. I will be back tomorrow with more of an update on what exactly I am doing and how I plan to have a successful 30 days (and beyond).

Yoga Challenge

Starting tomorrow I am participating in my own version of a yoga challenge. Thirty days straight of yoga. It is a pretty simple concept, all I need to do is practice yoga everyday. I really want to build up a routine before school starts again and life gets even crazier and I hope that carving out time for myself every night will help. Doing yoga consistently will be a challenge. I tend to lose interest in things fairly quickly.

Committing to thirty days of anything shouldn’t be hard but I’m not a very consistent person. I’m hoping that practicing yoga will help stretch me out, give me a we love for the mat and clear my mind. The goal for me is to do a minimum of twenty minutes a day and up to as long as I want to push my body. I will end up taking a few instructor led classes but the majority of what I will be doing is going to be at home.

I’ll check in a few times with some updates of how it’s going. I can’t wait to get everything started.

They say you can do anything for 30 days.

Project Ten Pan Update

I am loving Project Ten Pan. It has been about three weeks since I took on this challenge, and It isn’t as hard as I assumed it would be.  Now that I am in the middle of everything I have realized that I will not be able to pan out ten products by the end of the month, so I have made a few small changes.

My Urban Decay Primer potion was a lost cause. I had let the product go unused for to long so it hardened and became impossible to squeeze out of the tube. Part of the reason behind why I am taking part in the ten pan project is to prevent any products I have from going to waste. Some of the higher end products are really expensive and I hate when I have to throw them away.

One other change I also made was limiting my blush selection. Nars makes a realy great product and it seems to last forever. I decded to stick to the color “Deep Throat” and really focus on limiting my use to just that one blush. There are three or four different colors in my collection that I tend to rotate, so narrowing down to one should help me hit pan a little bit faster.

All of my other products are slowly being used. My foundation will be no problem to get through, as I use it every single day. Any of the eyeshadows will be around the longest. With the colors I have it doesn’t take a lot of product to look good, so as of right now it seems I will be with them forever. I am going to keep going with the project until the end of December and reevalute where I am. Hopefully I have made progress on quite a few of these products.

100lbs in 100 days

Recently I’ve been through the highs and lows of weight loss. I’ve cried about it. I’ve laughed about it. I have been inspired lately by the show ” I Used to be Fat” on MTV. Basically it’s a group of freshly graduated teenagers that have weight issues that are looking at doing a total body makeover. They enlist a trainer and from what the show tells you they do a 360 on their eating and exercise regime. These people are inspiring. They bust their ass, sweat it out and totally change their lives.

I am going to do this.

My challenge to myself is to loose 100lbs in 100 days.

There will not be any gimmicks or quick fixes. Weight loss is about calories in and calories out. I am going to bust my ass in the gym or in the treadmill. I will watch what I eat and be careful with what goes in my mouth. This isn’t about punishing my body. I want to push my body and see what I can do. I know my body has the ability to rapidly improve. I’m young and strong. 100 days gives me a goal.

I’m starting January 18th 2010. The end of the my 100 days will be April 28th 2010.

This is my challenge to myself. I need to know that I can do this. Keeping focused on an goal will hopefully help keep me accountable. I’m sure I will cry and want to give up. I just need to keep focused. I will keep you guys posted on my progress with an official weigh in tomorrow morning. I need to rest up tonight.
