Yesterday was a pretty typical food day. I did snack on some mushrooms that are in pictured after I ate my sandwich. I like to see what I ate in a day, I find it helps keep me on track. I snuck a lot of veggies in today. Spinach in my smoothie, mushrooms in my egg whites. Today was probably more carb based then I’d like but it was damn tasty and well within my weight watchers points!

Sunday Afternoon

The rest of my food day went moderatley well!

My mom made some pancakes and bacon for breakfast, and I just couldn’t resist.

I then went to the gorcery store, and faired pretty well. I get so easily sidetracked with all the new stuff to be found. Today my only exception was roasted red pepper hummus that is so delicous.

I ended up having some hummus and pita chips for a snack, followed by an apple later in the afternoon. All together not a bad afternoon. I was eagerly anticpating my turkey soup that was bubbling away.

Dinner was turkey soup, filled with veggies and a slow simmered broth. I really tried to keep the sodium down in the soup, and it was tough. Low sodium chicken broths taste funky, so I did end up using a little bit of salt. I did have a peice of garlic toast with the soup, that I didn’t get a picture of.

Following dinner I had a giant cup of coffee, and out of habit I added cream and sugar. I need to break out of the instant sugar habit, and I actually don’t mind black coffee. I just need to make it happen.

Weight Lost or Bust – Aug 2 Part 1

Good morning everyone!

Today is day one of rededicating myself to weight loss and getting healthy. Most important is keeping myself alive, keeping my heart strong and living a long and meaningful life. In order to do that I need to change. I’m excited to even feel excited about food again. I am at my happiest when I’m in the kitchen creating delicious meals, now my focus will be on wholesome food. I rely way to much on prepackaged crackers, bread and deli meats. This stuff is not good for me at all! I’m a white sugar addict and I love salty chips. I know how I should be eating but I tend to allow myself to overlook what’s healthy and give into cravings for carbs loaded with cheese, huge bowls of pasta and sugary drinks.

Every couple of days I’m going post some pictures of what I’m eating to help keep myself accountable. I’m in it to win it!

4 egg whites
1 6 inch whole wheat wrap
3 tbsp salsa
1 medium grapefruit

So far I feel good. I’m not overly hungry. Adding a decent amount of protein in the morning really helps keep me fueled for the day. I’ll be back with lunch!

Food Journal, Day 1

Here goes nothing!

My day hasn’t been ultra horrible for food.  It has not been one of my best day, but it hasn’t been awful either.

Breakfast;

  • 1/2 cinnamon bagel
  • 1 oz cheese
  • 1 bottle of orange juice  ( about 2 cups)

Lunch

  • 1 salad ( lettuce, tomato, cucumber, black olive, green pepper)
  • 2 tbsp ranch
  • 4 oz roasted chicken
  • 1 bottle of nest iced tea

Dinner

  • 5 inches of lasagna ( about 350 cal)
  • 2 pieces  of garlic bread (eek!)
  • 3 oz mozza
  • 1 glass of  sugary juice (eek!)

Snack

  • 1 plum
  • 2 Reese’s piece’s cups

As you can see my day has been full of sugar cravings.  I woke up late.  I didn’t get a filling breakfast in before work and I drank a ton of my calories.  It is really easy to justify chocolate if you had a salad for lunch.  My goal for tomorrow is homemade well planned meals.  I can’t let breakfast become an afterthought.

One Fast Paced Kind Of Week

What a week so far!

Everything seems to be going 100 miles a minute. I love getting things done and I feel like this is a great week to kick some serious ass.  Whenever things rev up I tend to loose control of my eating habits.  I get sidetracked, miss meals and then hit the all to familiar drive through.  I love to do everything 200% and I can already tell this is going to be one of those weeks!

My plan of attack to keep my head in line and excess pounds off my ass needs to be public. Food journaling is a great way to keep myself in line.  Normally I track my weight watchers points through my iphone, and this week will be no differently. While still using my iphone to track food, I am also going to post online for this next week.

Now I know, food blogs can get kind of boring.  Oatmeal here, big salad in the next photo. I love reading some blogs that pay tribute to their day of food and exercise.  Part of it is my love to know what other people are doing.  It’s a sneak peak into someone else’s day and every now and then I get inspired to try something new. I don’t want this blog to be my virtual food journal, but on weeks like this I will post what I am eating to hold myself accountable.  As much as I don’t want to tell you I ate a double cheeseburger in 5 minutes on my way home from work I am going to.  The people who read my blog have been ultra supportive! I know you will all keep my in line.

Starting today I will be posting whatever goes in my mouth.  I will still post about other more interesting things, but you will certainly see mini posts about my day.  Just knowing that I have to keep accountable to the internet world is enough to hopefully keep my lips cheeseburger free.
